ilovtigga, One of my best friends from high school recently had an issue with hair loss. After several types of herbal, homebrew, and crazy stuff from the Internet, he finally chose to visit a hair loss center. Initially he was scared to go becasue he was scared it would cost too much, but he learned a lot from the free consultations. After 12 months he is finally starting to regain some hair. Sorry I don't know more about his treatment, but maybe you could call a local clinic. http://www.hairlossandtreatment.comWhat can I do to prevent hair loss if I applied a relaxer (Lye) and didnt use a neutralizing shampoo?
1. always make sure you have neutralizer on hand before you think about relaxing your hair. But deep condioning before shampooing would be the best defense as most conditioners have a neutralizing property. Then shampoo and conditioner again.
2. you've already done what you could, but really even if it was -10 outside I'd wrap my hair up and run to sallys or walmart for that 99cent neutralizer if I saw I was out. Your next wash should be with a neutralizer, then my conditioning shampoo, conditioner. Watch your hair carefully. If you haven't seen a lot of shedding/breaking as you style it during the next week or 2, you might be in the clear.
You should desperately use a hair loosener or the so called neutraliazer. If you are not doing so you are sure to loose some of your hairs.

neutralize it asap. neutralizer will not damage your hair its more of conditioning agent.
